You Are Loved

I love when God brings people into my life via messy stories. Mine and theirs. After a few minutes of pleasantries, we cut through the crap and get real about why we’ve met.

Recently, I was given another opportunity for such a meeting. And as always, I walked away in awe of Grace.

I was born for this…baring my soul, the messiness of my sin, and the grace of One whose mercies are new every morning. My passion is pouring out grace on those who’ve caused their own misery.

It never ceases to amaze me to watch their eyes fill with tears when I tell them that God loves them no matter what they’ve done. It fills me with joy to watch something click within them when I remind them that Peter betrayed Jesus three times, and still Jesus loved him. My heart leaps when I watch the guilty realize that their punishment was paid at the cross, and that they only need to rest in grace. I can barely contain my excitement when they grasp that God works in the gray, and that our black/white churchy {dare I say Pharisaical?} view of sin doesn’t limit Him.

I love to watch God step into a muddy mess, and flood it with grace and redemption as He wraps His arms around His beloved child! Yes, this is when every fiber of my being is acutely aware of how much He loves us.

I don’t normally share new songs here, but my passion {reminding the guilty that they are loved, that they are not alone} lies within this one my writing partner and I wrote a few weeks ago:

If you don’t remember anything else today, I hope you remember these words: YOU are loved.
